Leash-Free Parks

GTA - West

Different parks have different rules, which are usually posted. Make sure you observe the Rules and Hours of the Parks. Some can change according to the season. The different groups that operate and maintain the park areas are very strict about the Rules. This helps ensure the safety of you and your pets.

Some of the Parks also have "Membership Fees" to help keep the parks going and allows for improvements.

Brampton

Chris Gibson Park
On east side of McLaughlin Road north of Queen St. W near Holtby. This park is nice with trees and benches and fencing.. There are 2 entrances to the park and there are double gates to let your dog off the leash. The park is at the back of the baseball fields. There is a train track nearby with loud trains.

White Spruce Park
The park is located on Heart Lake Road just north of Bovaird Drive and South of Sandlewood Parkway. Next to the tennis courts. A very large park that is fenced with benches, tables, trees, parking & trashcans. Open 8AM to dusk

Mississauga

Garnetwood Park
Go along Burnhamthorpe RD, almost to the Etobicoke border, turn north onto Pony Drive and right onto Rathburn to Garnetwood.

Jack Darling Park
Located on the South side of Lakeshore Blvd. West. It is west of Lorne Park Road. It is a big park and the off-leash area is on the west side. Weekdays only.

Quenippenon Meadows
On Erin Centre Boulevard, just west of Erin Mills Parkway. Across from Erin Mills Town Centre. On the North side between the school and the apartmenr buildings. Park your car in the school parking lot. This is a fenced off area about the size of a football field. There is 1 picnic table, but no other amenities.

Totoredaca Park
Meadowvale Blvd. Two lights north of the 401, turn left on Meadowvale Blvd and follow it past Meadowpine Road. It is a fully fenced 3 acres park which includes an agility area and a small dog area.

Oakville

Abbey Oaks Off Leash Dog Park
Located on Neyagawa, just north of Dundas. Large fully fenced site, open
dawn to dusk, ample parking.

Carefree Canines Off-Leash Dog Park
Located on the East side of 8th Line, North of Glenashton It is fenced with a water line. there is a voluntary annual membership fee of $15.

Post Park
Located on MacDonald Road between Balsam & Chartwell -Open 24 hours Fenced-in dog area is south of the soccer field. Good big area for dogs to run and play. Has benches & picnic tables.

Shell Park
Lakeshore Rd., between BurlOak and Bronte - Open 24 hrs. Fenced, benches and tables, phones.& parking.
